Join Us!

We are a boy-led troop, offering a Scouting program with emphasis on camping and outdoor skills. Our Scouts actively practice the leadership skills they'll use as adults.  All boys age 11 to 17, in grades 6 or higher, are welcome to join us or to visit a meeting.   Please contact our Committee Chairman or Scoutmaster to arrange your visit to a meeting - we believe you'll become one of our newest members.

News You Can Use:

  • SUMMER CAMP 2019 will be at Camp Sequassen, this is a special treat for our scouts because we will be eating in the dining hall, a first in Troop 42 history.
    Dates: July 28-August 3rd. We leave on Sunday and return on Saturday.
    Scout cost: $480 (if paid in full by April 9th) or  $495 if paid after.  Sibling discount is $440 early bird or $455 regular.
    Adult Cost: To be determined by the beginning of April, (the fee for adults is based on the number of scouts that attend) please make your commitments. 
    $50 camper deposit. Deposits can be made as soon as tonight.
    Credits earned by Scouts from the Wreath & Poinsettia and Applebee’s fundraisers will be applied to the payments. An email with each scouts credit from W&P went out and another will follow after Applebees. 
    Refund policy:
    Deposits are non-refundable.
    Full refund, minus the non-refundable deposit, is available if requested by June 10th. 
    Other important things to note…
    NO SCOUT WILL BE TURNED AWAY FOR FINANCIAL HARDSHIP. If you need assistance or a customized payment plan, please work DIRECTLY with our Troop Treasurer treasurer@nftroop42.org. Participation in a fundraiser is required.
    Medical forms must be up to date prior to camp and the earlier the better. Forms must be handed in by June 15th. Contact the Troop Medical Records Coordinator with any questions or concerns.  medicalrecords@nftroop42.org
    Please do not pay in full if you participated in either fundraiser until the credits have been calculated and applied. Any questions- contact summercamp@nftroop42.org
  • Beginning on Monday, January 28, 2019, after-school access to the middle and high school will be restricted to the main entrance of the high school. All other exterior doors, including those used to enter the gym and cafeteria lobby, will be locked.
  • The next Campout will be April 27-28 at Orange County Speedway/Camp Bullowa
  • When a weekly scout meeting calls for "Uniform: Class B", All scouts are expected to wear the appropriate Class B uniform with no exceptions. This will be strictly enforced going forward.  A Class B uniform consists of a scouting tee-shirt or other troop or camp shirt and Scout pants or shorts. Uniforms can be purchased from the official on line store or a local store
  • The Troop Controlled Substance Policy is now available
