Welcome To Troop 42 of New Fairfield!

Join Us!

We are a boy-led troop, offering a Scouting program with emphasis on camping and outdoor skills. Our Scouts actively practice the leadership skills they'll use as adults.  All boys age 11 to 17, in grades 6 or higher, are welcome to join us or to visit a meeting.   Please contact our Committee Chairman or Scoutmaster to arrange your visit to a meeting - we believe you'll become one of our newest members.

News You Can Use:

  • Our meeting location for Tues., Dec. 1 is the New Life United Methodist Church at 1 Beaver Bog Rd.  The location change is due to the football game at the school.  Start time of the meeting, as well as the PLC, will be at the regular time.
  • Our annual Wreath and Poinsettia Sale is on! The prices have are $17 for a 22-24 in. wreath and $33 for a 36 in. All poinsettias are $13, come in 6 in. pots, and have the option of being Red, White, or Pink. All information for handling the order form is on the form itself.   • The troop was asked to serve hot chocolate at the Annual Holiday Light Parade & Tree Lighting on Sat., Nov 28 from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.  Eight scouts and a few adults are needed.  If you can help, please let the Senior Patrol Leader know.  
  • Equipment return information is posted under "Shanty Rules" available under the equipment section of the Camping page.  There's also information on what to do when you take home equipment after a camping trip in the Troop 42 Equipment Maintenance Procedures.  The procedures can be found under the equipment section of the Camping page or in the camping section of the Forms page.  Contact the Quartermaster if you have any questions.
