We are a boy-led troop, offering a Scouting program with emphasis on camping and outdoor skills. Our Scouts actively practice the leadership skills they'll use as adults.  All boys age 11 to 17, in grades 6 or higher, are welcome to join us or to visit a meeting.   Please contact our Committee Chairman or Scoutmaster to arrange your visit to a meeting - we believe you'll become one of our newest members.

News You Can Use:

  • Summer camp is coming!- Dates: July 29-August 4th. We leave on Sunday and return on Saturday. permission slip
    Scout cost: $435 (if paid in full by May 30th) or  $465 if paid after. 
    Adult Cost: To be determined by the end of March, (the fee for adults is based on the number of scouts that attend) please make your commitments.
    Due March 27th: $40 camper deposit.
    Adults may also commit and pay $40 deposit.
    Credits earned by Scouts from the Wreath & Poinsettia and Applebee’s fundraisers will be applied to the payments. An email with each scouts individual credits will go out early April. 
    Refund policy:
    Deposits are non-refundable.
    Full refund (less initial $40 per-camper deposit) may be refunded at any time up to and including the unit’s arrival at camp for the certain reasons (if accompanied by appropriate documentation):

    NO SCOUT WILL BE TURNED AWAY FOR FINANCIAL HARDSHIP. If you need assistance or a customized payment plan, please work DIRECTLY with our Troop Treasurer. treasurer@nftroop42.org
    Medical forms must be up to date prior to camp and the earlier the better. Forms must be handed in by July 1st. Contact the Troop Medical Records Coordinator with any questions or concerns. medicalrecords@nftroop42.org
    Please do not pay in full if you participated in either fundraiser until the credits have been calculated and applied. This will be done by early April. An email will go out. Any questions, contact summercamp@nftroop42.org
  • Scouts 16 years and older (under 21 must be accompanied by an adult) you may be interested in the Scatacook District Shooting Sports Day scheduled for October 27, 2018 at Hoyt Scout Camp.  The program is staffed by NRA/ USA Archery Certified Instructors and RSOs.  This is a District sponsored event and registration should be completed directly by interested families.   • When a weekly scout meeting calls for "Uniform: Class B", All scouts are expected to wear the appropriate Class B uniform with no exceptions. This will be strictly enforced going forward.  A Class B uniform consists of a scouting tee-shirt or other troop or camp shirt and Scout pants or shorts. Uniforms can be purchased from the official on line store or a local store
  • The Troop Controlled Substance Policy is now available
