Welcome To Troop 42 of New Fairfield!

sponsored by the New Fairfield Lions Club, and a member of the Scatacook District of the Connecticut Yankee Council, Boy Scouts of America.

Join Us!

We are a boy-led troop, offering a Scouting program with emphasis on camping and outdoor skills. Our Scouts actively practice the leadership skills they'll use as adults.  All boys age 11 to 17, in grades 6 or higher, are welcome to join us or to visit a meeting.   Please contact our Committee Chairman or Scoutmaster to arrange your visit to a meeting - we believe you'll become one of our newest members.

News You Can Use:

  • This weekends campout (Dec 10-11) has been changed. We will meet at Camp Anderson (Brain Andersons house on 2 North Forty Drive) on Saturday starting at 1:30 PM and ending Sunday at 9:00AM. We will not meet at the school! Please drop off/drive to Brian Andersons House. Please make sure your sons eat prior to arrival. All cooking/tent/and camp supplies will be at Camp Anderson, so please arrive as you would at any campout, prepared to set your tent and camping area. Tyler Zars will be acting SPL and Greg Zars will be acting ASPL. We will have activities to do after the camp and cooking area is set up, so please encourage your sons to engage themselves with future members of the troop.  By attending this event, you accept the changes in the signed permission slip and acknowledge this is a TR42 sponsored event. Please dress appropriately and use the packing list on the TR 42 website to pack. IT IS COLD.
  • Anyone interested in earning the Ad Altare Dei Catholic award this year?.  Scouts must have completed 6th grade before starting the program and it is designed for 13-14 yr olds, but older scouts may also work on the program. For more information, contact the parent coordinator.
  • The March campout has been changed to March 11-12 due to availability of the ranges
  • The Troop Controlled Substance Policy is now available
